Power facilities under attack in the region
Ukraine's power facilities have come under escalating strikes in recent weeks

During the night, Russian aerial assaults have caused blackouts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were wounded while inhabitants in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and dealt with interruptions to drinking water, per reports from city officials.

Simultaneously, a minor was killed in a different assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, based on information from local officials.

Moscow has increased assaults on energy facilities over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "concrete actions" from international partners to apply pressure on Russia.

"What is required is not symbolic gestures but firm measures - from the US, European nations and the G7 - in supplying air defence systems and enforcing sanctions," he wrote in a online statement.

He said that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty projectiles struck energy facilities, characterizing such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

Government representatives said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were laboring to repair systems.

A series of attacks hit electrical systems and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Multiple people hurt in the assaults on the capital have been taken to hospital, according to municipal representatives.

Area administrators said the metropolitan region came under heavy assaults overnight. A seven-year-old child lost their life and multiple civilians were injured.

The assaults come after evenings of aerial attacks in the territory, portions of which are occupied by Moscow's military.

All of Ukraine is under warning for advanced weapon attacks, which are harder to spot.

Authorities told journalists that Moscow was deliberately attempting to damage the country's energy grid, with assaults already affecting fuel infrastructure.

Authorities confirmed technical personnel and officials were anticipating additional strikes.
